Gerda from Hans Christian Andersen's classic, The Snow Queen

Redesigned for my character class... I really enjoyed doing different little sketches for Gerda and her outfit. Fixed some things after crit, it's a little better than before.

ETA: In the original story, Gerda and Kay are best friends. When Kay's eyes are pierced by the demon mirror (that makes him see all the bad in the world and none of the good) the Snow Queen takes him to her palace where he is contented to live. Gerda goes on a long journey to bring him back.

Wow...great job on her facial expression. She looks both worried, perhaps on the verge of open fear. I'm not familiar with the story myself, so I don't know how accurate that may be, but it's a very beautiful painting!
